I know that this blog hasn't been up and running for long, but we've all decided that perhaps carrying on blogging on Cherry Blossom Beauties isn't the greatest idea as we've failed as bloggers up to now on a group blog! This doesn't mean that we definetly won't be posting in the future, but for now we are putting down our pens.
We wish you all the best, and hope to be writing here again soon.

Dream a little dream...
When I was little, I wanted to save lives and dress up! My answer? I wanted to be a nurse. Eventually, I changed my mind and turned to dentistry. And then...? I was lost. We've all been through that place in our lives where we feel simply lost! You feel that everyone around you knows exactly what they're doing and what they're going to be doing next, but you're just stood still in the middle of it all. I know it's cliche, but you have to know what you love before you can move through this phase. Trust me, I've been there! What aspects of your life do you love? What have you always wanted to try? Myself? I love trying new fashion journeys and writing 'till my heart's content. So suddenly, I'm out of my messy situation! And I can just focus!
Fashion+ journalism= fashion journalism.
It's like science...the equation just has to be balanced, but with a positive outcome and more importantly an outcome that makes you smile so hard you wish that you could be there in a heartbeat. And yes, your future might be as daunting as hell, but it's worth it! It's your life and only you can make it into what you want it to be. Keep Dreaming. Poppy xoxo

Who are we?
Have you ever sat down and wondered what got you there? What bizarre happening in the world made you reach this very point in your life? We've all had our ups and downs in life, some more than others, but is it evidently our fault? I know that a lot of people believe in karma and fate- and I have to say that I'm one of them- but can fate be the cause of our actions? And does it even travel into our lifestyle, more so, into our clothes? I've always dressed the way I dress for different reasons. Originally, because I was put into those cute little dresses and dolly shoes that I learnt to despise, then I could dress myself and obviously I went for the Tom boyish jeans and a t-shirt with maybe a cute pink cardigan for added irony. But now? I find myself wearing a mix of the two. I still like creating irony in my fashion choices because I think it gives me a back story, so now I'm more likely to fall back onto the cute dresses, but I still like to keep it edgy of course with a pair of leather ankle boots and messy backcombed hair. Maybe I've never consciously chosen to wear certain clothes based on where I am in my life, but I definitely dress depending on my mood. And let me tell you, it's very rare now that I wake up and feel like I must put on some jeans. I guess parents do know best after all. So tell me, have you ever wondered how you've got here, right now? xoxo

Smile
Sometimes life brings us a bad day or a bad week, sometimes even a bad month. What you have to remember is that life still goes on. At the end of the day you still have plenty of years to mess up; this is just the start. You will learn from your mistakes and mishaps and one day act due to this.
But until those happier days turn up, we have to take comfort in our friends and know that they're always there for us when times get tough. And yes, maybe taking comfort includes being totally silly and giddy, but isn't that how you achieve a happier life?
Sometimes we have to forget about all life. Work, school or home life. Whatever it is that's stressing you out, you just need to forget, ring up your best friends and randomly go out. Whether this includes skipping around Clumber, having a lovely party or just a girly night in. It's worth it and also you get a lot of silly photos! A little like these ones...
Best friends (definition)- A best friend is not only someone you have a good time with, it is also someone you believe you can trust your life with. A best friend is the first person you call when the most amazing things happen in your life, and when the most horrific incidents happen. A best friend is the person you will always remember no matter what comes about.
So never leave your friends behind and always stick up for them. We all need a friend from time to time to make us smile! xoxo

Money makes the world go round....
For this fashion related post i have decided to have a look at money. It is very true that money makes the world go round and for women, that is a problem world over! There are many things that i find wrong with the fashion industry and one of them is the prices that we pay for sometimes just down right cheap clothing. Is it unreasonable for me to want to want to buy a top for £8? I understand that £12 on a top or £20 quid for a good pair of jeans is okay on its own but when you need just a little bit of a boost and would really like two new tops you end up becoming more depressed about the fact that you can't afford to buy your boost! Why is it that Topshop can price a sleeveless crop top at £40 when you could wrap a few newspapers around you and have a catwalk look for free?! And why is it that people think that this is okay? Once you start to buy the odd top for £20 or those jeans at £35 suddenly that £85 dress just seems normal. Where does all our sense go? When does so much money become a small insignificant amount? I understand that i am in the minority here and that Poppy is probably reading this thinking '£85 is not that much!' but to me, a person who gets a good amount of money each month to fund my social life, i don't want to be spending all my money on one piece of clothing. 13 year olds can't have that much money can they, do their parents buy it for them? The questions are endless, am i speaking the truth or am i a small prawn who has just got to que up in order to be eaten by the big fish of fashion??

Holiday wear.
Easter is just around the corner and so my family and I are going on holiday to Rosedale. We go just about every year- I guess we're just drawn in by the village. But the reason I like it and the reason the rest of my family like it are very different! They love it for the daily walks (yes- daily) which I don't mind, but where do you get to dress up during a walk? I love it for the scenery and the fact that I can just feel at home. It fits in with romantic view on life perfectly! So when the Easter Holidays get here I'm off on my holiday, but I need a new dress! Dilemma...I have no money. Oh no. I went shopping yesterday with a few friends and went to the cinema, to see the Woman in Black, which was amazingly creepy! Whilst shopping, I tried on a gorgeous dress from Republic. I don't normally venture into Republic, or at least haven't for years, but I'm really glad I did because I tried on a really nice dress, but regrettably didn't buy it. Thank goodness for the Internet! So my holiday outfits won't suffer apart from those days that I go walking... well ya know what they say. Every day's not a catwalk- I completely disagree!!! xoxo

Nailed it!
The other night we all went round to Emma's house for a girly night! I won't bore you with all the girly details (you can see those at The Red Flower) as I've already blogged about them! I am going to share another nail post though. I absolutely adore painting my nails, but feel like crying when it starts ruining my nails and making them flake. So during our girly night in, I decided my nails just had to be painted, but couldn't for the life of me- Emma's favourite saying of the moment- decide which colour. It had to be all or nothing...I chose all! Literally, my nails are multi-coloured. Ten different colours for ten different nails! Have you nailed your nails yet? xoxo

D.I.Y Photo album
Ok for my birthday my best friend made me an amazing photo album that contained so many memories of things that have happened and that will happen. I bet your asking yourself "How has she done that, is she some sort of crystal ball reader??". No she isn't, sadly, she just left the back part of the book free for me to fill in with new memories. Which was really sweet (or lazy <3 only joking I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH). Anyway I thought that I would let you guys reading how to make one. They're quite easy to make but I thought that I would show you anyway.
1. First you find/buy/make an empty album book.
2. Collect scissors, glue and a few gel pens.

3. Now find some pictures that you have lying around that you are meaning to put in picture frames but haven't got round to it yet.

4. Next glue them into position into the album on the page you want and draw borders, swirls and shapes around them to fill up the pages.
5. Finally, add a few meaningful sayings in the book here and there that mean something to you and your done.

Happy designing xxxx

Me and Emma....our love for shoes over took us! |
I know my last post wasn't exactly fashion related, but it was very nessecary! Anyway, I thought I'd get back on track by letting you know another aspect of my life (which won't be a suprise to anyone) I love to shop! Shopping is one of my favourite things to do, but I must say I hate spending money all at the same time- it's a hard life! Eli, Emma and I have been shopping together more times than I can count and everytime we take lots and lots of photos to represent our great day out- that and the fact that I insisit- we'll always regret it if we don't! You need photos to look back on! Eli made Emma a gorgeous photo book of her and friends for her birthday and so needed a lot of photos (that's where I came in...I knew it was worth taking pictures) it looked really good too! There were pictures all through their life together because they've known each other forever! I'm essentially a new comer! But, none of you could see these pictures of our shopping experiences and so I thought I'd share a few! They aren't all the greatest pictures in the world, but the whole idea is to show how much fun we have shopping. I am obsessed! Enjoy...

Pattened trousers
Fashion posts, hmmm, what do i write about. Much thought is going into this post as i am trying my hardest to get into the spirit of fashion, broaden my horizens blah blah blah and i have come up with an idea highly pattened trousers.
Cruising through the topshop website the other day i found something, or should i say an army of things, diabolical. The not so humble pattened trousers. I have to admitt that it was a bit of a shock to see shiny rasberry gingham print croped trousers for sale. I am truly begginig to think that world has gone mad, seriously do these look good on anyone? The answer is no. These trousers are abominable and should be inflicted on no-one, not even Rihanna or Beyonce could pull them off (although im sure they would try). What was the world thinking, rope print, metalic snake print, garden print, all names of trousers that gaurentee to make your bum look big and cause blindness in other people. I even saw a trouser suit in tropical leaf print! Honestly world get a grip, we do not have time to waste on decisions about whether our new fish print trousers go with our magnolia bush headscarf.

Hey There Henry!
I'm bringing my obsession over to Cherry Blossom Beauties. It is with this dress! Anyone who isn't familiar with this dress should know that it is designed by Henry Holland who I absolutely adore! I first heard of him through his tights (I know- of all things!) but I think I speak for all three of us when I say we have an obsession for tights! The suspender ones are kooky and cute! Back on track though, Henry! I absolutely adore Henry Holland's designs because they are so cute! I bought this dress about a year ago from Debenhams and I normally pair it with ankle boots and a grey cardigan, but it was our friend's party on Saturday and so I thought I'd shake it up a bit! I've been reading a lot of blogs recently about fashion and accesorizing and so I've thought about applying this to my fashion. Which is what I did on Saturday and I only have blogs to thank for that (cheesy!) So, I absolutely love all of these blogs, but I particularly love Selective Potential and Delightfully Tacky. But, if you wanted to check out any of these blogs then you can access them on my account. So anyway, back to this outfit! I paired the dress with lovely lacey tights, several necklaces and my gorgeous brogues! I think I may live in heals- it makes me taller! But hey, great things come in small packages right? xoxo
I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship
Helloooooo my name is Emma x well I've been meaning to write on here ever since we started but it has taken a while as you can tell.
So anyway, Welcome to the newly named Cherry Blossom Beauties. I'm not quite a girly girl as I adore camping, rock climbing and horse riding, but I love dressing up in beautiful clothes and experimenting with new styles (don't we all!!). I would love so much to travel the world and see what is out there. Usually I blog on If Nothing Goes Right.. Go Left which I started at the end of last year and absolutely love. I am also obsessed with everything vintage from clothing to records, the Beatles and Queen are one of my favorite bands (a quirk from my parents). Talking of quirks my favorite films all happen to either be Disney or have a soppy romantic ending (Titanic, Casablanca and the Notebook) which annoys the hell out of Eli.
Somehow this weird group of people have managed to stay together for the best part of three years and hopefully will for a lot longer.
Thankyou for reading and hope to see you soon x x
love Emma x

Jeggins
So for my second fashion post i have thought long and hard and have come up with a part of fashion that i believe should truly be hidden forever.... Jeggins. What the hell are they, if anyone has any idea please enlighten me.
I remeber my first encounter with the fake jeans. It was some day many years ago and i was shopping in meadowhall with my friend Megan (if anyone else was there i am sorry but i can't remember) and we had ventured into New Look, seriously its massive. i was wondering around the generation section, not because if am a perv but because sometimes they have crop tops in the right size for a normal price, and i came across some jeans i thought my sister would like. How wrong i was. From the first touch i knew that jeggins and i were destined to be enemies. They felt like leggins but looked like jeans, major confusion! I called megan over and showed her. At first she was probablly thinking 'Eli, you do know that you can't fit into a pair of 9-10 jeans right' but upon feeling the abominations she to recoiled in horror at the jegginyness.
'Oh my god. They look like jeans but are leggins'.
My sentiments exactly. It was nice to know that someone else was on my wavelength. Since then jeggins had a brief spot at the top but have now gone into extintion and rightly so, nothing that pretends to be jeans but on a more comfortable level should be allowed to survive. Harsh but true.
Jeggins = evil. (sorry if you own a pair)

OMG
Hello people of the world, as you will know (if you read the blog) that i have agreed to start a blog with my friends... WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!!!! I would not say that i am a fashionista who is up to date with Prada's latest range in feathered turbans so why did i agree to a fashion blog?? It was only last year that i deciphered the mystery world of peter pan collars for god's sake (did peter pan wear a collar, i don't remember?) Anyway, i have decided to use the same techniques i do when we go shopping and words like 'bodycon' and 'ruffled' float past my eyes- sarcasm, a girls best friend. the only way i keep my head above the jewel encrusted water that is fashion is to take the mick out of things that scare me. Massive platform heels that cost £40 for example, or pussy bow blouses- i mean, really, who thought up that name? The industry has gone mad, before we know it everyone will be wearing dog leg trousers to go with our pussybow blouses.
But enough of my slanted view of fashion for one day. until i find another fashion faux pas to diss, bye xxxxx

Pilot post
Welcome to Very Odd Socks! We're Eli, Emma and Poppy and we all come from a very small town near Sheffield. We all have very different outlooks on life, but somehow manage to tolerate each other enough to sustain a crazy friendship.
Eli
Hi I'm eli (thats ellie but with an individual take). I am the one with my feet firmly planted on earth and the rest just float about above my head. Just watch for my sarcastic comments and laugh! :)
Emma
Heya, my names Emma and apparently im the ditsy one of the bunch. I am not a stereotypical blonde, but I have to admit I do have some very bizzare moments that could be classed as blondism!!
P.S. I cannot spell to save my life so am really sorry if you cannot understand a word I say!!
Poppy
I wouldn't say that I am overly mature, or overly ditsy, but I am a happy middle! All of my friends would say that I'm a hopeless romantic with a life plan that would kick anyone into shape! But, what's wrong with being optimistic?
We hope that you love reading our bizzare thoughts! xoxo
