Putting down the pen x

I know that this blog hasn't been up and running for long, but we've all decided that perhaps carrying on blogging on Cherry Blossom Beauties isn't the greatest idea as we've failed as bloggers up to now on a group blog! This doesn't mean that we definetly won't be posting in the future, but for now we are putting down our pens.
We wish you all the best, and hope to be writing here again soon.
You can still check out our individual blogs at:

Dream a little dream...

When I was little, I wanted to save lives and dress up! My answer? I wanted to be a nurse. Eventually, I changed my mind and turned to dentistry. And then...? I was lost. We've all been through that place in our lives where we feel simply lost! You feel that everyone around you knows exactly what they're doing and what they're going to be doing next, but you're just stood still in the middle of it all. I know it's cliche, but you have to know what you love before you can move through this phase. Trust me, I've been there! What aspects of your life do you love? What have you always wanted to try? Myself? I love trying new fashion journeys and writing 'till my heart's content. So suddenly, I'm out of my messy situation! And I can just focus!
Fashion+ journalism= fashion journalism.
It's like science...the equation just has to be balanced, but with a positive outcome and more importantly an outcome that makes you smile so hard you wish that you could be there in a heartbeat. And yes, your future might be as daunting as hell, but it's worth it! It's your life and only you can make it into what you want it to be. Keep Dreaming. Poppy xoxo

Who are we?

Have you ever sat down and wondered what got you there? What bizarre happening in the world made you reach this very point in your life? We've all had our ups and downs in life, some more than others, but is it evidently our fault? I know that a lot of people believe in karma and fate- and I have to say that I'm one of them- but can fate be the cause of our actions? And does it even travel into our lifestyle, more so, into our clothes? I've always dressed the way I dress for different reasons. Originally, because I was put into those cute little dresses and dolly shoes that I learnt to despise, then I could dress myself and obviously I went for the Tom boyish jeans and a t-shirt with maybe a cute pink cardigan for added irony. But now? I find myself wearing a mix of the two. I still like creating irony in my fashion choices because I think it gives me a back story, so now I'm more likely to fall back onto the cute dresses, but I still like to keep it edgy of course with a pair of leather ankle boots and messy backcombed hair. Maybe I've never consciously chosen to wear certain clothes based on where I am in my life, but I definitely dress depending on my mood. And let me tell you, it's very rare now that I wake up and feel like I must put on some jeans. I guess parents do know best after all. So tell me, have you ever wondered how you've got here, right now? xoxo

Smile

Sometimes life brings us a bad day or a bad week, sometimes even a bad month. What you have to remember is that life still goes on. At the end of the day you still have plenty of years to mess up; this is just the start. You will learn from your mistakes and mishaps and one day act due to this.
But until those happier days turn up, we have to take comfort in our friends and know that they're always there for us when times get tough. And yes, maybe taking comfort includes being totally silly and giddy, but isn't that how you achieve a happier life?
Sometimes we have to forget about all life. Work, school or home life. Whatever it is that's stressing you out, you just need to forget, ring up your best friends and randomly go out. Whether this includes skipping around Clumber, having a lovely party or just a girly night in. It's worth it and also you get a lot of silly photos! A little like these ones...

Best friends (definition)- A best friend is not only someone you have a good time with, it is also someone you believe you can trust your life with. A best friend is the first person you call when the most amazing things happen in your life, and when the most horrific incidents happen. A best friend is the person you will always remember no matter what comes about.

So never leave your friends behind and always stick up for them. We all need a friend from time to time to make us smile! xoxo

Money makes the world go round....

For this fashion related post i have decided to have a look at money. It is very true that money makes the world go round and for women, that is a problem world over! There are many things that i find wrong with the fashion industry and one of them is the prices that we pay for sometimes just down right cheap clothing. Is it unreasonable for me to want to want to buy a top for £8? I understand that £12 on a top or £20 quid for a good pair of jeans is okay on its own but when you need just a little bit of a boost and would really like two new tops you end up becoming more depressed about the fact that you can't afford to buy your boost! Why is it that Topshop can price a sleeveless crop top at £40 when you could wrap a few newspapers around you and have a catwalk look for free?! And why is it that people think that this is okay? Once you start to buy the odd top for £20 or those jeans at £35 suddenly that £85 dress just seems normal. Where does all our sense go? When does so much money become a small insignificant amount? I understand that i am in the minority here and that Poppy is probably reading this thinking '£85 is not that much!' but to me, a person who gets a good amount of money each month to fund my social life, i don't want to be spending all my money on one piece of clothing. 13 year olds can't have that much money can they, do their parents buy it for them? The questions are endless, am i speaking the truth or am i a small prawn who has just got to que up in order to be eaten by the big fish of fashion??

Holiday wear.

Easter is just around the corner and so my family and I are going on holiday to Rosedale. We go just about every year- I guess we're just drawn in by the village. But the reason I like it and the reason the rest of my family like it are very different! They love it for the daily walks (yes- daily) which I don't mind, but where do you get to dress up during a walk? I love it for the scenery and the fact that I can just feel at home. It fits in with romantic view on life perfectly! So when the Easter Holidays get here I'm off on my holiday, but I need a new dress! Dilemma...I have no money. Oh no. I went shopping yesterday with a few friends and went to the cinema, to see the Woman in Black, which was amazingly creepy! Whilst shopping, I tried on a gorgeous dress from Republic. I don't normally venture into Republic, or at least haven't for years, but I'm really glad I did because I tried on a really nice dress, but regrettably didn't buy it. Thank goodness for the Internet! So my holiday outfits won't suffer apart from those days that I go walking... well ya know what they say. Every day's not a catwalk- I completely disagree!!! xoxo
